Dior's Haute Couture Collection Goes on a Global Safari for Fall 2017

While many luxurious vogue homes are taking their runway exhibits on the street, presenting in places starting from Tokyo to Florence, Dior Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri introduced a safari to Paris for the French home’s Fall 2017 Haute Couture assortment.

After a misstep for Fall 2017, Chiuri follows her Calabasas-set Resort 2018 collection with a robust displaying for couture. As the legacy model celebrates its 70th anniversary, Chiuri channelled Monsieur Christian Dior himself, bringing out her personal model of his well-known Bar Jacket and discovering inspiration in Mr. Dior’s worldwide voyages. Italian artist Pietro Ruffo designed the set — a large star with 5 prongs on the middle represented every continent to which Dior had traveled — full with wood animals and dramatic landscapes. And although this assortment may be the closest Chiuri has hewn to the archives throughout her tenure at Dior to this point, there are actually loads of her signature touches all through the gathering, seen greatest within the diaphanous robes in addition to the embroidered and knife-pleated detailing.
